Nightmare Journeys

This week in my English class homework I have to write about a Nightmare Journey. And I thought: This is a nice post to my blog!

This wasn’t a nightmare journey, but a very bad start to a wonderful short holiday.
Last year in March I was going to London for 3 days. My flight was at 12:00, and I arrived at the airport 2 hours before, as usually. I was flying alone, because my husband was already in England waiting for me. The girl at the check-in desk told me that the flight was delayed to 2pm, but I had to check-in before 11 am and I couldn’t leave the airport.

At 12:30 I heard the speakers calling all passengers from my flight to the Monarch airline desk. They gave me a 5€ voucher to the restaurants because the flight was delayed again, to 3pm.
5€? They must be kidding! I had a latté and a croissant and it cost me 10€!

I walked around the airport, tested all fragrances and beauty products in the shops, read all books and magazines available and finally at 5pm the flight took off.

I arrived at London 5 hours later and it was already dark and I had to go from Gatwick airport to Tottenham Court Road. I had to take a train to Kings cross station, and then the underground: the blue line to Oxford Circus and then I had to change to the red line.

But here the bad luck started to change. I managed to arrive at the hotel without getting lost at night, in the middle of the London rush hour and with my backpack. My husband was waiting for me. I took a bath and changed my clothes and we went out to find some place to dinner.

At the door of Planet Hollywood we found an old friend who worked there. There were a lot of people waiting for a table, but with our friend help we were eating in less than 20 minutes.

This was the begging of wonderful visit to London. I loved the city and the rest of the trip.
